Terms of service
The agreement, in plain language.
In effect 6 August 2026
Vilayaty · United Kingdom → Pakistan
These terms apply when you ask us to buy something for you. They are written to be read rather than skipped — particularly the parts about duty, returns and warranties, which are where cross-border buying usually surprises people.
What this agreement covers
These terms form the agreement between you and Vilayaty (“Vilayaty”, “we”, “us”) whenever you send us a request, accept a quote, or book a live video shopping call. By accepting a quote you accept these terms.
Address: Islamabad Pakistan
Contact: requests@vilayaty.com
We act as your buying agent
This is the most important thing on the page. We are not a shop, a retailer, a reseller, or an authorised distributor of any brand. You are instructing us to buy a specific item on your behalf from a shop in the United Kingdom, and to arrange for it to reach you in Pakistan.
The goods are bought as your agent and become yours at the moment of purchase. Our service is the sourcing, verification, handling and delivery around that purchase.
Requests and quotes
- Sending a request costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It is an enquiry, not an order.
- We respond with a single all-in figure in Pakistani rupees covering the item at its UK counter price, UK sales tax where it applies, shipping to Pakistan, and Pakistani customs and duty.
- No separate service fee is added to a standard request. Our margin is already inside the quoted figure. Live video shopping is the single exception and is described below.
- A quote is valid only for the period stated in it, because UK prices, stock and the exchange rate move. After that we may need to requote.
- A contract forms only when you accept a quote in writing and we confirm it.
- If the item sells out between quote and purchase, we will tell you at once and either wait for stock, offer an alternative for your approval, or refund you in full.
Live video shopping
- Booking a call costs nothing and holding a slot is free. You may cancel or reschedule at any time.
- A 10% service charge applies to the value of goods you decide to buy during the call. It is charged only on what you actually buy.
- Shipping and customs duty are quoted alongside that charge, and the full total is confirmed to you in writing before any payment is due.
- If you finish a call having bought nothing, there is no charge of any kind.
- Nothing is purchased on a call without your explicit instruction at the time.
- Calls depend on the connection at both ends and on the shop permitting filming. If a call cannot go ahead we will reschedule it.
Payment
- Payment is by bank transfer in Pakistani rupees to the account we give you after you accept a quote.
- Payment is due in full before we buy, unless we have agreed something different with you in writing.
- We do not accept or store card details, and no payment is ever taken through this website.
- Any bank charges applied by your own bank on the transfer are yours to bear.
- If the UK price falls between the quote and the purchase, the saving is passed to you. If it rises materially, we will come back to you before buying rather than proceed.
Buying, title and risk
We buy the item over the counter from the brand’s own shop or an authorised UK stockist. Title to the goods passes to you at the point of purchase; from that moment the goods are yours.
Risk of loss or damage in transit remains with us until the consignment is delivered to the address you gave us. If a consignment is lost or damaged on the way, that is ours to resolve — we will replace the item or refund you.
Customs, duty and taxes
- Pakistani customs duty and import taxes are included in the figure you accept. There is nothing further to pay on arrival.
- We declare consignments accurately. We will not under-declare the value of goods or mislabel them as gifts, and we cannot accept instructions to do so.
- Customs authorities may inspect, hold or in rare cases seize a consignment. Where a delay is caused by customs we will pursue it on your behalf and keep you informed.
- If duty rates or import rules change between quote and shipment in a way that materially alters the cost, we will tell you and give you the choice of paying the difference or cancelling for a full refund.
Delivery
- Delivery timelines we give are honest estimates, not guarantees. Typically one to two weeks door to door after purchase, and longer to smaller cities.
- You will receive a tracking reference when the consignment ships, and updates at each stage.
- You are responsible for giving us a correct and complete delivery address and for someone being available to receive the consignment. Redelivery costs caused by a wrong address or repeated failed attempts may be passed on.
Changes, cancellation and returns
Before we buy
You may change or cancel a request at any time before we purchase, at no cost. If you have already paid, you receive a full refund.
After we buy
Once an item has been purchased in the UK on your instruction, it cannot be returned or refunded other than in the situations below. This is not a policy we chose lightly: shipping goods back across two borders routinely costs more than the item is worth, and UK consumer return windows expire long before a parcel could make the journey back.
This is exactly why, before buying, we will always:
- confirm shade, size, variant and quantity with you in writing;
- ask for your foot length in centimetres rather than converting a size label;
- offer a live video call for anything you would rather see with your own eyes first.
Where we will always put it right
- We bought the wrong item, size, shade or variant.
- The item arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described.
- The consignment is lost in transit.
Tell us within 7 days of delivery, with photographs, and we will replace the item or refund you in full including any charges.
Authenticity and warranties
Everything is bought over the counter from the brand or an authorised UK stockist — never from a marketplace, wholesaler or grey-market seller. You receive photographs of the item in hand with the original receipt and packaging before it ships, and any authenticity card the brand includes travels with it.
Warranties are a different matter. A manufacturer’s warranty is generally honoured in the country of purchase, so a UK warranty may not be serviceable in Pakistan. Where an item is expensive enough for this to matter, we will tell you what the brand’s cover actually is before you commit. We are not the manufacturer and we do not give our own warranty on the goods.
Electrical goods bought in the UK are built for UK voltage and plugs. We will confirm the arrangement with you before shipping, but adapting or certifying an appliance for local use is not something we can take responsibility for.
What we will not buy
We will not source anything restricted at either border, including alcohol, tobacco, prescription medicines and supplements, weapons or their parts, counterfeit goods, or anything Pakistani customs will not clear. Nor will we buy anything we believe is intended for resale as counterfeit or for any unlawful purpose.
If a request falls into a grey area, we will tell you before you spend anything. We may decline any request without giving a reason.
Brands and trade marks
All brand names, logos and product imagery on this site belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify goods available to purchase. Vilayaty is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an authorised distributor for any brand it buys from.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate contact and delivery details.
- Check the specification we confirm before purchase — shade, size, variant, quantity. Once you approve it, we buy exactly that.
- Make sure the goods you ask for may lawfully be imported to Pakistan for your intended use.
- Be reachable while an order is in progress, so decisions are not delayed.
Our liability
We are liable for failing to carry out this service with reasonable care and skill, and for the goods reaching you as described.
Except where liability cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for fraud — our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid us for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for loss of profit, or for delays outside our reasonable control such as customs holds, carrier disruption, strikes or natural events.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Islamabad, Pakistan, and the courts of Islamabad, Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute. Nothing here removes any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
Before any of that, please write to us. Almost everything is resolved in a conversation.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and the date at the top of the page will change when we do. The terms that apply to your order are the ones in effect on the day you accepted the quote, so a later change cannot alter an order already agreed.
